Marinas / Boatyard Services
The City of Port Angeles is located on the shores within the confines of natural deep water harbor that is protected by the long sand spit of Ediz Hook curving east into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Port Angeles serves as the gateway to the cruising waters of the Canadian Gulf islands, San Juan Islands and the inside passage to Alaska. Port Angeles is also the gateway to Olympic National Park with nearly 1 million acres of stunning alpine and coastal wilderness to explore.
The Port of Port Angeles fuels the North Olympic Peninsula’s maritime economy through the building critical maritime infrastructure including modern marine terminals, boatyards and two marinas with over 700 slips. The Port Angeles Boat Haven is increasingly becoming a stopover destination for provisioning and fuel for superyachts up to 60 meters. Local marine businesses provide a wide variety of marine services including vessel haul out services up to 500 tons, welding and fabrication, fiberglass repair, hydraulic services. Port Angeles is also the location of the corporate headquarters of the renowned yacht manufacturer Westport Yachts. Platypus Marine operates a full service indoor shipyard specializing in overhauls, repairs, and conversions. The Port is currently developing an 18 acre site dedicated to marine trades development. The Port recently completed construction of a new wash-down facility that can accommodate vessels up to 500 Tons and 60 meters.
