Fort Lauderdale, FL – The team at Cross Chartering Yacht Transport announce a record-setting yacht transport in June. The crew loaded the Chipolbrok Star in Port Everglades, Florida, with 43 boats ranging in size from 35’ to 93’ heading west and making stops in Cristobal Panama; La Paz, Mexico; Ensenada, Mexico and finally landing in Victoria, Canada.
“Our business has been up more than 50% over last year with more first-time buyers transporting their boats than we’ve seen in decades,” said Paul Haber, President of Cross Chartering Yacht Transport. “It’s been an unprecedented time in our industry as we’ve already run more than six westbound and five eastbound ships this year, sometimes even running multiple ships in a single month to keep up with the tremendous demand.”
Many sectors in the yachting industry have seen a significant increase in business due to the pandemic and yacht transport is no exception to that. However, there are challenges facing yacht transport as the global shipping market has tightened significantly leading to increased costs to ship a vessel. “Even with the increases in rates, there seems to be no slacking off in demand,” continued Haber. “We will continue to work to provide the best customer service in the industry and move our clients where they want to go.” This dedication has established Cross Chartering Yacht Transport, established in 1992, as the largest and most reliable yacht carrier in North America, with more North American sailings in 2020 and 2021 than any other yacht carrier.
